The Flower of Barcelona Blanket

Choose any yarn composition you love! Discover your colors and your weights. Might you don’t like Aran? If you love chunky yarns- take 10mm needles and be ready steady knit!
You don’t need to follow the gauge. The size of the blanket depends on your knitting tension.
You have to know how to work cables and simple stitches such as knit, purl, make one, and knit two stitches together. Also, you have to know some basic crochet stitches for joining all squares in one big piece.
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner with some skills.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• 2 x 100g balls (392m or 429yds) using Stylecraft Special Aran 1064 (mocha shade) yarn.
• 2 x 100g balls (392m or 429yds) using Stylecraft Special Aran 1004 (dark brown shade) yarn.
• 2 x 100g balls (392m or 429yds) using Stylecraft Special Aran 1035 (burgundy shade) yarn.
• 2 x 100g balls (392m or 429yds) using Stylecraft Special Aran 1829 (empire shade) yarn.
• 2 x 100g balls (392m or 429yds) using Stylecraft Special Aran 1081 (saffron shade) yarn.
NB If you substitute another yarn, please check gauge (tension) and yardage and adjust accordingly.
• 2 Straight needles – 8mm (US 11).
• 1 Crochet hook – 4mm (US G).
• 1 Cable needle.
• 1 Tapestry needle.
MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING:
Each Square size: 19 x 19 cm (7 1⁄2 x 7 1⁄2 ins).
Afghan size: 204cm x 92cm (80 1⁄4 x 36 1⁄4 ins). Your size depends on your gauge and chosen yarn weight.
GAUGE (Tension): 16sts and 18rows = 10cm (4ins), Afghan being blocked and measured over cable pattern, using 8mm (US 11) needle. Gauge is not crucial for this pattern.
